About:
When Amanda Visser writes a song, the emotion usually sits in the back of her mind, unfolding in her subconscious, until she can articulate the expression. Then she writes. In the tension of the internal world exposing itself externally at her piano or with her guitar or ukulele, she weaves chords and melodies with words. Amanda began writing music when at twelve she witnessed a heartbreaking interaction. Unable to talk about it she grabbed her guitar. Amanda’s rare gift to articulate feeling and story, making sense of the world through music is imbued in her intimate indie pop singer-songwriter style. Influenced by the storytelling of Joni Mitchell and Carole King and the word play of FINNEAS, Amanda’s value of words fosters story in her music and listeners find themselves known when listening to her. In March of 2019 Amanda released her first single, Sinking. After a three and half year wait Amanda returns with the upbeat melancholic single, Reminiscent, in which her introspective lyricism and nostalgic melodies dance over vibey synths and broody bass swells in a syncopated variety of sentimental wash.
